Working closely with perfumers and fragrance developers, Michael travels the world to record fragrance history with independence and impartiality; with integrity and accuracy. Michael’s work remains a universally embraced source of fragrance classification and an essential selling tool for fragrance houses and retailers.

Beauty has been an essential human need from time immemorial. There has not been a culture, time period or civilisation that has not needed beauty or in fact survived without it. The beauty industry also has a major socio-economic impact, employing millions of people worldwide and making a significant contribution to the GDP. This session will explore the history and importance of beauty rituals as well as the role beauty plays in self-expression and self-identity.
The briefing will be followed by an industry leaders’ dinner, the first event celebrating Accord’s 2025 anniversary year: 50 years since our original formation in 1975 and 20 years as Accord, the combined voice of the hygiene, personal care and specialty products industry.
