Accord Electrification Handbook: A new resource for Manufacturers

We’re pleased to announce the release of the Accord Members' Electrification Handbook 2026, a new practical resource developed with EnergyLink Services to support our manufacturing members in navigating the transition to low‑emissions manufacturing.

This Handbook provides practical, step-by-step guidance to help businesses assess, plan and implement the electrification of process heat—one of the key opportunities to reduce emissions across our sector.

What the handbook covers:

  • Sector insights: Key barriers and drivers influencing electrification for the sectors represented by Accord.
  • Technology pathways: An overview of available electrification technologies—such as heat pumps, electrode boilers, electric thermal energy storage and more—and where they are best applied.
  • Getting started: Practical steps to begin the electrification journey, including understanding your site’s energy use and identifying early opportunities.
  • Efficiency and heat recovery: Opportunities to reduce energy demand and improve system performance as a foundation for electrification.
Economics and business case development: Guidance on evaluating costs, accessing incentives and building a robust business case.

This project was made possible by grant funding from the Australian Industry Renewable Heat Accelerator. Our thanks to the Accelerator team, to EnergyLink Services for undertaking the project and the Accord members who participated in the project.
